About the psychologists

Drs. Patrizia Sie, founder
In 1995 she earned her degree in Psychology from the VU and UVA in Amsterdam, specializing in Clinical and Occupational & Organizational Psychology (graduated cum laude). She then followed a 5-year postgraduate course in Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Utrecht. In 2000 she earned her registration by the Dutch Association of Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Therapy (VGCT). Since then she has worked as GZ-psychologist in different sectors of mental health.

In addition to a broad experience in the first and second echelon of mental healthcare (The HSK-group, Riagg Amsterdam and the Valerius Clinic, Amsterdam), she has also worked as a teacher, supervisor, trainer and coach. As a trainer and instructor, she has developed stress management & absentee prevention modules that have been applied and utilized in business and education. As a psychologist/coach she has worked with the consulting firm Schouten & Nelissen in Zaltbommel.

Since 2000 she works mainly in her own private practice. She began in Amsterdam, and then went on to Bergen before finally moving to the new office in Alkmaar. In early 2010 she was ’temporarily’ located in Denver, Colorado, USA. She worked at a public elementary school supporting educational activities and provided counseling. She also continued her professional education while in the U.S. in EMDR techniques. In the summer of 2012, she returned to the Netherlands and reopened her psychology practice in Alkmaar.
